We hit the ground running on returning to school after the summer break and we have hardly taken a breath since. From creative art projects to 'Golden Time' fun, from 'Reading Buddies' to Cross Country Running in the sun and would you believe a classroom visit from a bat!! - it has been a hectic month but such an enjoyable one with lots of learning, laughter and fun. We hope you enjoy the photos of all we have been getting up to.
We have been very creative since returning to school. We did some fabulous name art, made a jigsaw of ourselves, created some very unusual hairstyles and brought 'perms' back into fashion!
On Friday afternoons the boys and girls get 'Golden Time' of their choice. One of the most popular choices is Astro turf time and what better way to end a week than by having some 'Active' fun in the sunshine.
'Reading Buddies' continues to be a very popular time of the week. The younger pupils love reading a book with their older buddies.
The end of September saw us heading off to the West Clare Schools Cross Country Qualifiers. Always a great day out, made even better this year by the wonderful sunshine. The boys and girls did themselves and their school proud. We were so proud of everyone for finishing their races and of our 'triplet' brothers for making the team that was awarded U8 West Clare Schools Cross Country Champions. We wish them all the best as they go on to represent their parish in the Cross Country finals in Lees Road in November.
To top off a busy month we had a tiny visitor to our class. Past parent, and current nana Teresa, brought in a little bat to show the boys and girls. They gazed at this tiny creature as they had their many questions answered. Thank you Teresa for calling in to us!
Tune in again next month to see what October brings to the 'Sycamore' Room.
