What a great few weeks we had in the lead up to Hallowe'en!! We created some very spooky Hallowe'en silhouette scenes, some chalk images and some very 'straaaaange' looking pumpkins. We went on a fabulous 'Witchy Walk' and enjoyed some traditional Hallowe'en games. We even made a pumpkin 'puke'!!! Read on and enjoy the photos of all we have been doing!!
The 'Sycamore' room was decorated with some wonderfully spooky artwork created by the boys and girls. Displays even stretched out into the entrance area.
With help from our fantastic parent volunteers and of course our wonderful SNAs, we created some very unusual looking pumpkins which some pupils were lucky enough to get to take home.
Before creating monster pumpkins, we made two 'puke' by mixing baking soda, food colouring and vinegar. We really enjoyed making predictions and then measuring and mixing the substances before watching the chemical reaction take place.
On our Hallowe'en Dress Up Day, everyone came to school in fantastic costumes... so good we hardly recognised each other!!
The 'bairín breac' was sampled as the search began for the 'fáinne' and jellies and crisps were on offer for the winners of our Hallowe'en themed bingo 'as Gaeilge'!!
Finally it was time to head off on our 'Witchy Walk'!!! We sang Hallowe'en songs as we walked through the village, meeting parents and neighbours who very kindly gave us lots of yummy treats.
....and that's a wrap for another year!! We're looking forward to next year already!!
