Fanatastic February

What a fantastic month of February we had in the 'Sycamore' room. From 'Robotics' to 'Rainclouds in a jar', from Valentines to pancakes and from fractions to football we have done it all. Here are some photos of what we have been getting up to. We hope you enjoy them.

Peter and Christian visited us to show us how they get robots to work. We got to use the tablet to make the robot pick up a ball and move it to a different location. It was 'fascinating'!

In science and geography, we explored and discussed how the water cycle works. We learned lots of interesting terms like 'evaporation', 'condensation' and 'precipitation'. To further explore this theme, we used shaving foam, water and food colouring to create a raincloud in a jar....we even got it to rain!!! It was really cool!

For Valentines Day, we wrote beautiful things about the person we chose to be our Valentine. How lucky we are to have such special people in our lives!!

Pancake Tuesday is always a great day at school and this year was no different. In history class, we learned all about the traditions of 'Shrove Tuesday', but the best part of the day was when we got to eat yummy pancakes with lots of tasty toppings. Thank you Cathy for making pancakes for us!!

In maths we have been working on fractions. Third class had great fun trying to match the fraction strips with each other. Great discussions were had and lots of maths language used.

This month also saw the group stages of the INTO mini 7s taking place. Some of the boys and girls from 3rd class enjoyed being a part of this annually held competition. While success wasn't ours on either day, everyone gave of their best and had lots of fun. Roll on next year!!

What a busy month it has been!! See ye all next month for a recap on our March activities!
